Soapbox 1.2 ‘Off the Grid’

On November 7th 2019 the second issue of Soapbox: Journal for Cultural Analysis was launched.

The printed issue’s theme ‘Off the Grid’ invited students, PhDs and young researchers to offer their perspectives on conceptions of ‘grids’ and extant or possible resistances to it. The resultant articles cover topics from urban illustration to gender, taxonomy and energy infrastructures.

This was the second and final issue during my tenure as one of the co-founding editorial board of the graduate journal. Personally, I edited one of the articles (Tânia Cardoso) as part of a highly collaborative four-round review process, and also proofread the rest extensively. I also helped write and distribute the call for papers, selected abstracts, and helped with promotion.
